Recap of Events

June 23: Dr. Lauren Streicher Speaker Event

On June 23, 43 attendees enjoyed a lovely luncheon at East Bank Club featuring Dr. Lauren Streicher speaking on "What's Up Down There: An Overview of Female Sexual Health". Lauren was informative and entertaining and addressed all of our questions, providing great resources. Believe it or not, we had a lot of laughs.

As an expert in the field of women's sexual health, Lauren shows women how to fix whatever is broken "down there." She explains what a woman needs to know about her body, her lifestyle, her relationships, and how it all connects to a satisfying sex life. Check out Lauren's website if you'd like more information.

We are pleased to note that we had EPWNG members in attendance from ALL 4 EPWNG chapters!

 Platinum Perspective

Pam Valle, Valle Educational Consultants

Since 2004, Valle Educational Consultants has helped families with high school students through the tedious and overwhelming details of the college admissions process.  Her services entail more than just submitting applications.  They include:

  • Helping students choose a major based on interests and aptitude.
  • Guiding families toward schools that are a good fit for the student.
  • Creating a personalized plan to make the student a competitive candidate for schools.
  • Organizing and submitting applications
Pam feels that the benefits of working with her team include not only their years of experience, but their ability to think outside of the box and their flexibility to change tacks mid-stream and create personalized plans based on what the student needs. For example, Pam had a student that was bound for college immediately after high school, but the parents felt that perhaps their child wasn't mature enough to go to college right away.  Pam and her team developed a "gap year" program that included an internship and other experiences that gave him real life lessons and built his independence muscle.  After that year, he was excited and prepared to go away to college.

For Pam, this career is a labor of love.  She was in technology sales beforehand, and didn't even know educational consulting was a career until her oldest child was a sophomore in high school and Pam was introduced to a consultant.  She worked with a boutique practice to learn the ropes and never looked back.  Her inspiration comes from happy clients, and she enjoys forming a relationship with families and finding the best fit for students.

Pam stays on top of her game by networking, joining associations in her field, and visiting colleges.  In fact, she estimates that she's visited 75 college campuses in her career!  For Pam, EPWNG taught her the value of purposefully building a network for current and future professional/personal needs.
